FBA Reimbursement is Amazon’s way of paying sellers back when inventory is lost, damaged, or mishandled while it is under Amazon’s control. If you use FBA long enough, this is something you will almost certainly run into.
Many sellers assume inventory is always perfectly tracked once it reaches Amazon’s warehouse, but that is not always the case. Units can go missing during receiving, get damaged in storage, disappear during transfers, or never get properly added back after returns. Reimbursement is meant to help recover those losses.
You should check for FBA reimbursement when:
- Shipment quantities do not match what was sent.
- Inventory disappears without a clear reason.
- Returned products are not added back correctly.
- Units are marked damaged while in Amazon’s possession.
A smart way to stay on top of it:
- Track every shipment you send in.
- Compare expected units with received units.
- Review return reports and inventory adjustments.
- Raise cases when something clearly does not add up.
These losses often happen quietly. One or two units may not seem like much, but over time, they can chip away at your margins.
